Comparison

Freitt vs WebCargo, now Freightos for Forwarders

Compare an inbox-first quote-automation workflow with a carrier-connectivity and digital-booking platform for air, ocean and ground freight.

A note on the name: Freightos states that "The WebCargo product name has officially transitioned into Freightos for Forwarders." This page keeps the WebCargo URL because that is still what buyers search for, and uses the current name throughout. One page, one canonical URL.

01The short answer

Freitt is centred on automating inbound customer RFQs from email, using the forwarder’s approved rate sheets and pricing rules to prepare a response for human review. It is a quote layer beside your existing systems, not a marketplace and not a booking platform.

Freightos for Forwarders, formerly WebCargo, publicly positions around live carrier connectivity, rate management, quoting, booking and market intelligence, with named products for air booking, rate and quote, a sales portal, payment, procurement and benchmarking. Its air product emphasises live contract rates and direct airline eBooking. It is the stronger fit when carrier connectivity and digital booking are central; Freitt is the more focused fit when the immediate bottleneck is the customer inbox and existing private rate sheets. The two may be complementary — but do not assume an integration before confirming one exists.

Best forFreightos for ForwardersCarrier connectivity as a core requirement: live rates, comparison across many airlines, direct eBooking, procurement and market benchmarking.
Best forFreittA small team pricing from private, already-agreed rate sheets, where the delay is between the RFQ arriving and the reply going out, and where no TMS migration is on the table.

Where a source does not answer a question, this table says so. Nothing here is recorded as unsupported on the strength of a vendor not mentioning it.

03One RFQ, both ways
  1. 01A customer emails an air RFQ

Freitt:Read and structured from the mail and its attachments; a quote record opens.

Freightos for Forwarders (formerly WebCargo):Not documented publicly. Establish how the request reaches the platform.

  2. 02Finding the price

Freitt:The valid line from your own sheet, with the source row and validity date attached.

Freightos for Forwarders (formerly WebCargo):Live contract rates and live carrier connections across a large airline network.

  3. 03Comparing carriers

Freitt:Only across the rates you hold. There is no market view.

  5. 05Booking it

Freitt:Out of scope. Book the way you book today.

Freightos for Forwarders (formerly WebCargo):Direct airline eBooking, with payment as a named product.

04Where the alternative is stronger

Reasons not to choose Freitt.

Carrier connectivity.

Live contract rates and live carrier connections at a scale a single forwarder cannot assemble alone. If that is your requirement, this is the category.

Direct eBooking.

"75+ eBooking connections" — booking, not just quoting. Freitt does not book with carriers at all.

Market benchmarking.

Terminal is marketed for market intelligence and benchmarking. Freitt reports only on your own desk.

Procurement and tendering.

Procure is a named product for automated tendering. There is no Freitt equivalent.

05Where Freitt is more focused
Private rates, priced privately.Freitt prices from the sheets you negotiated, in the layout you keep them in, and shows which row and which margin rule produced every figure.
The inbox bottleneck specifically. The product starts at the customer’s email. If your delay is reading requests and typing replies, that is the delay being addressed.
Small-desk scope. One workflow, priced per person who quotes, configured in a working session, positioned beside the TMS rather than instead of it.
Approval is explicit.A person sends every customer quote, and exception rules can hold the ones that should not go out unread.
06Implementation and cost
  • These may be complementary rather than rival.

A desk can source live air rates in one product and answer customer emails in another. But confirm a supported integration exists before planning on it — we are not claiming one does.

  • Name the requirement first.

If you need to book with carriers, that is a connectivity platform and Freitt will not replace it. If you need to answer RFQs faster from private rates, connectivity does not solve that.

  • Ask about the inbox in writing.

Neither vendor’s public pages settle what happens to a forwarded email. Get the answer from the vendor for the product you are actually buying.

  • Watch the brand transition.

WebCargo, Freightos for Forwarders and the individual product names have all moved recently. Check you are reading current documentation for the module you are being sold.

On pricing

Freightos publishes no platform price on the pages cited, though its air booking product is described as free, instant pricing and eBooking. We link to their pages rather than reproducing figures. Freitt’s per-user price is on the Freitt pricing page.

Questions buyers actually ask

Freightos states that the WebCargo product name has officially transitioned into Freightos for Forwarders. This page keeps the WebCargo URL because that is what buyers still search for, and uses the current name in the text.

No, and it does not claim to. Freitt produces a customer quote from your own rates; carrier booking is not in the product. Freightos for Forwarders markets direct airline eBooking as a central capability.

Not something the pages we cite state either way. That is recorded on this page as not stated rather than as a No — ask the vendor for the product you are evaluating.

Possibly. We are deliberately not implying an integration exists, because we have not confirmed one. Ask both vendors what is supported today.
